# Parallel integration for LuumenAI

Structured web research and standing monitors, run from the terminal

## What LuumenAI can do with Parallel

LuumenAI connects to Parallel with an API token and exposes 32 tools (21 read-only · 9 write · 2 destructive). Reads answer immediately; writes are shown as a plan and require approval by default, configurable per tool by an administrator.

## Key facts

- Authentication: API token
- Tools available: 32 tools (21 read-only · 9 write · 2 destructive)
- Plan: available on all plans
- Category: Databases & data platforms

## About Parallel with LuumenAI

Parallel turns a plain-language research question into schema-compliant output. Connect it and Luumen can read existing monitors, task groups, and FindAll results for context, then start new runs or set up a monitor when you ask. Useful for vendor checks, incident background, and tracking pages that matter to your change calendar. Authentication is by API key.

## Example tools

Read-only (21 in total):

- `PARALLEL_CREATE_CHAT_COMPLETIONS` — Get realtime chat completions from Parallel AI.
- `PARALLEL_EXTRACT` — Extract relevant content from specific web URLs.
- `PARALLEL_FETCH_TASK_GROUP_RUNS` — Retrieve task runs from a Task Group as a resumable stream.
- `PARALLEL_GET_FIND_ALL_RUN_RESULT` — Fetch the final (or latest available) FindAll candidates and result payload for a run.
- `PARALLEL_GET_FIND_ALL_RUN_SCHEMA` — Retrieve the schema configuration of a FindAll run by findall_id.
- `PARALLEL_INGEST_FIND_ALL_RUN` — Transform a natural language search objective into a structured FindAll specification.
- `PARALLEL_LIST_MONITOR_EVENTS` — List events for a monitor from up to the last 300 event groups.
- `PARALLEL_LIST_MONITORS` — List active monitors for the user.

Write and destructive (11 in total, approval required by default):

- `PARALLEL_ADD_ENRICHMENT_TO_FIND_ALL_RUN` — Add an enrichment to a FindAll run.
- `PARALLEL_ADD_RUNS_TO_TASK_GROUP` — Initiate multiple task runs within a TaskGroup.
- `PARALLEL_CANCEL_FIND_ALL_RUN` — Cancel an active FindAll run by findall_id.
- `PARALLEL_CREATE_MONITOR` — Create a web monitor that periodically runs the specified query.
- `PARALLEL_CREATE_TASK_GROUP` — Create a new task group.
- `PARALLEL_CREATE_TASK_RUN` — Create and initiate a task run.
- `PARALLEL_DELETE_MONITOR` — Delete a monitor, stopping all future executions.
- `PARALLEL_EXTEND_FIND_ALL_RUN` — Extend a FindAll run by adding additional matches to the current match limit.

## Frequently asked questions

### How does LuumenAI connect to Parallel?

Authorize once with API token. Luumen lists the scopes each action needs before you approve the connection, and credentials never appear in the chat.

### Can LuumenAI change things in Parallel on its own?

Read actions answer immediately. Anything that writes is shown as a plan and requires approval by default, including the 2 actions classified as destructive. Administrators configure that per tool.

### Is there an audit trail?

Every call to Parallel — read or write, approved or declined — is recorded with the actor, the input, and the result.
